A good teenage book?

Im looking for a good teenage book to read this summer for girls. I'm not into mystic magical books like harry potter. just a good book that i can get stuck into.

i just read ..the boy in the striped pyjamas

about a 9 year old boy and his family

during world war 2 his father is put in charge of Auschwitz
the story is all seen from the boys point of view.

one of the best books Ive read in a long long time.

Just 1 book this summer!! You are missing out on some serious fun if you limit yourself to just one book!

Read Maximum Ride by James Patterson. Oh, wait, that might be magical.

Hmm, how about biographies? Madame Curie by Eve Curie was a WONDERFULLY LYRICAL book. Note Eve's wistfulness as she discusses herself and how she wished her mom had pushed her. Eve is a beautiful writer, hope you can find the book. It may have gone out of print again, it was first published in 1937 and then came out again a few years ago. I bought 4 copies, it is that beautiful a book.

Oh, you have to laugh yourself silly with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I got hysterical fits at some points in the book.

Read sobering Ann Rule true crime stories. Especially the STranger beside me. You will become lots more leery of men who seem to have broken arms in casts, and won't be so willing to be helpful to them. That was Ted Bundy's very useful ploy to kill several beautiful women. Oh, and that one about Fahey-Capani, was it And Never Let Her Go. You will never get involved with a married man if you read that story.

Read a James Michener novel, like Hawaii. Gives a true history of Hawaii at the saem time as a very entertaining story.

If you don't like Pride and Prejudice, then you are not a girl!! It's just that it is funny as hell, and takes a couple of re-readings to get the most fun out of it. Every girl will feel for Elizabeth in her fury and her embarrassment.

There are just so many great books and so many good writers! How can you limit yourself to just one?????

In my teen ages, we had something like called "daughter of the miller". It was moving from hand to hand between friends. The story I don't remember but it was something like teenage daughter of the miller was sleeping with all the boys of the town in different positions and places... It was great fun !!! :-D

there is a south african author who is pretty good, we did a few of her books for our finals in our last year of high school, cant remember her name but two of her books were "circles in the forest" and "Fielas child". they make excellent reading.
