Should I sell my car or keep it?

I have a certified pre-owned 2004 honda civic which is in outstanding condition. I have about $5,500 dollars left on the loan to pay off. I can easily afford the payments, but I am looking to get myself out of debt and was wondering if it would be smart to sell the car for appx $13,000, then take the left over cash and buy an older honda for about $5,000, and put the rest in the bank. Is this smart? or should I just keep my civic and work towards paying it off?

I would keep the car. What car would you get for $ 5,000? Probably one that breaks down every now and then which means you end up being without a car while it is in the shop and you spend part of the monea that you put on the bank for repair bills. With the one you have you know what you have and since you can afford the installments, better be on the safe side with a good and reliable car.
