Is it bad for a car to sit for too long?

My girlfriend left the country for two months and asked me to start her truck up every now and then for her because it was supposedly bad to let it sit. It's a 2001 Nisson Frontier. Is it bad to let it sit? Should I take it for a short drive to get it warm? Just looking out for my girlfriend.

Let it warm up so the oil can get through the engine...drive it a little...maybe do some smokey burnouts to keep the tires fresh....

Hey that's what I have. We have let it sit for a month and it was fine. If you let a car sit for an extrema time, you need to change all the fluids in it, and put more air in the tiers. Its not a bad thing to start it up every now and then.

if it's been in the sun, so yes its been sitting too long
because of hot weather

You can prepare a car to sit for a long time. Two months is not a long time. It would help though if you drove it to the store once a week. Cars need to be warmed up to operating temp. Just starting it for a couple minutes can be damaging to the exhaust system if you don't get all the moisture out of the system.
