I've created my Blog now how do I get people to read it and make money?

Ok I've heard all the hype about making money while "blogging". I'm a stay at home mom, that got angry with my sister's boyfriend and decided to create a Blog called "Mr Right". Now how do i also make money from this using adsense? Is it when people view my site? How does this work?
