curious mom is on a distinguished road
My career is in a rut for years now. I recently found a career coach-

she seems geniune. Should i hire her? I have 2 masters degrees, but i don't have the charisma and people don't think i am promotable material. I hate my job- but cannot quit as i need the money. Should i hire a career coach who can draw a marketing plan and help me? My husband thinks it is a waste of money- what do u think?

Is it other people that think you don't have charisma and aren't promotable, or is it you who thinks that. You seriously need to change your thinking and promote yourself. You have to believe in yourself first, and I don't believe that a career coach can help you with that.

If you think it would be worth the money, go ahead! It might be very beneficial---On the other hand, it may not. You could also talk to an adviser at one of the colleges/universities you got a degree from...they are more than willing to talk to alumni (no matter how long it's been)...and help you with career options. You could visit the career services department at the university as well. OR a university near you. Those are probably free services you may want to try first.
