No idea about wireless internet?

I have a cable modem at home, which is fine. But I am going away for a while and would like access to the internet.

My computer is not set up for wireless.

I dont know what a router is, but I guess I need to get one. After that what do I have to do to set it up?
Is it hard to do?

i think is it hard to setup and costly to buy, but if you need wireless internect, i think you don't need any router, you need wireless ISPs, than you can access internet..also i think you have to buy wireless Card..

It isn't expensive to go wireless unless you are maybe trying to with an old laptop
all you need is a wireless modem and a wireless card
once you go wireless you'll never want to know about pesky cables again

I am hoping to go wireless soon... I now have DSL and am planning on dropping the phone lines completely, and just using the cell phones. Then I'd switch to cable internet and then go wireless...

yea its definitely best
land lines are still quite expensive so if you move to something like skype and get setup to receive incoming and outgoing calls you are
you can also forward the calls from your computer to a cell
