ipod + itunes help?

okay so i just bought a brand new ipod. but i am not in my home country. my friend has itunes with the some great songs that i want on my ipod. can i attach my ipod and take songs from her itunes. or do i have to do it on my own computer the first time. i dont want to risk anything bad happening please help, i am leaving for an 8 hour airplane ride tom and i need music.

Well, the iPod can only sync with one library. You can register it with both without damaging the iPod but once you try to get songs from your library it is going to write over the ones you have from hers.
