How many mp3's?

How many mp3's do you have in your music collection?

I have 4164 songs - 15.82 GB...

That's not a bad start, I think!

yea but thing about mp3s is you get so many and don't really listen to a lot of them properly
notice how much time you put into listening to a CD you have just bought compared to a lot of mp3s

I listen to the good ones properly. Whenever you buy a CD there are at least a few songs on it that you don't like. But I went through on my itunes and rated all 4k songs. Then when I am listening to my itunes or my ipod, I just set it to shuffle through my favorites. That way I don't know what song will come up next, but I know it will be a good one...

who buys cds anymore?

I've got 20g of music. I'm probably going to clean it out. I know I don't listen to most of it. Lots of times I'll DL a bands whole discography just because I like a couple songs. Then I'll never listen to it all.

yea its true about CDs but well at least when you pay for an MP3 I think you listen to it more (even if you didn't think that much of it initially)
some music is like that though.

I hate itunes software its so slow to use with the ipod

yea Id like to transfer some of my mp3s on DVD onto a massive drive because some CDs/DVDs corrode over time (especially the cheaper ones) and I wouldn't be able to find a lot of the music again
just be a little scare of the HD going down though too heh

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people are not aware that they degrade over time. HDD failure is just as much a pain in the A!

My thoughts would be such that better to have 27 DVD's than 112 CD's though!

If you could have some flash ram that was the size they are now (keyring size) and that would hold all your mp3s I think that'd be cool
no reason why it wont happen soon anyway so no need to worry about corroding CDs or HD failure

good idea! like flash drives then, that would work. what's the biggest they make of those now? I bet they are a little pricey still for the really big ones.
