How do Diablo 2's graphics compare to Age of Empire 2's graphics?

I want to buy Diablo 2, I have never played it before. I need to have an idea on it's graphics and how aged they are before I buy the CD. I have played Age of Empires 2 it's graphics were sort of 2D but I loved it, how are Diablo 2's graphics compared to AOE 2, are they better, worse or just the same?

i have played both games. i think the graphics are almost the same. Diablo 2 may have better graphics. in some areas like fire, trees, etc.
