Why is WOW so addictive to people?

There are groups now for reformed players to get therepy, I find it weird.

Personally i've tried the 30 day trial of it and I wasn't that impressed. I'd rather stick to playing warcraft 3 online than have to pay every month to play WOW...

I know a few people who are really addicted to it, and a few who used to be but stopped due to problems (mainly money...).

Blizzard must be making loads from it though. They seem just to be milking it now for all it's worth.

After playing it I really can't understand why people would want to pay quite a fair bit of cash to keep playing it.

Guess it's a love/hate type thing.

I played warcraft and wasnt impressed either

I think its just so popular because its more of a community
Rather than a game you can pick up and put down people probably compare it to their own lives in how they want to better themselves etc
the more time they put in the less they want to let it go

I can see the appeal but lucky Ive been able to avoid gettin sucked in
I used to play a lot of games on my earlier computers and I realised eventually how much time it wasted

count me out!! I am interested in the culture somewhat though since the SouthPark episode is supposed to be one of the funniest ever or something! I suppose I need to be familiar with the game to understand the jokes though~
