How come when I equip a staff in Diablo 2, the side on the right where the

sheild goes is shaded red.?
It is a two handed staff but I am confused on why that side's shaded red

I think the red is just showing you that you can't put anything in that spot. Meaning you can't have a 2-handed weapon and a shield at the same time (because you don't have 3 hands). Red usually means you can't use something -- wrong class or level or your hands are already full.

A staff is a two handed weapon and cannon have a shield for the other hand
