I'm so boring and no one wants to be my friend. Maybe if I had hobbies, I would...
...be more interesting. But how? How can I find out new hobbies to try or do to be less boring? The only thing I like to do sometimes is to play videogames, but that is usually just me by myself, and most people I have talked to don't really like videogames and probably think I am boring and a nerd and loser, and really I am. I have no social skills and low self-esteem since my teenage years due to problems with acne and acne scars.
So what can I do to make myself less boring and more interesting to people so that they would want to be my friends and want to hang out with me? I'm trying to get a job right now, because I don't think there is anything free out there for me to do, and it doesn't help that I don't have any money and am living at home either. Do any of you have any suggestions on hobbies I could try out so I won't be so much of a boring nerd. I'm really lonely and want to make some friends, and I think this is one way that I might be able to spark interest in people long enough that they want to hang out. |

You need self-confidence. A true friend won't care about how you look! You'll get to know people at jobs. Look for things to do in your town. You can volunteer, not just cleaning up parks, but in animal shelters and other places like that. I've often heard of people with a low sense of self-confidence getting a real boost from a dog or a cat because they don't judge you! They just love you for who you are! Get a dog! Take the dog to dog parks or to the beach (I don't know where you live). You can make friends there.

Try studying computers, you can always become a computer technician. Many people aren't computer literate and you can really help them out a great deal when you know how to service computers. Luckily, most of the knowledge I have came naturally, so I have a good headstart on my computer career. Try finding different things to do. Try your hand at music making, using FL Studio. I'm not that bad, I made some songs with FL Studio. Try your hand at drawing, make some art. There's all kinds of things you can try. Try all kinds of things, and surely you will find something else you enjoy and are good at doing.
Good luck, and I say looks don't count. It's who you are inside that counts. You can be a really great guy, so who cares if you have acne scars? I do. You can also try practicing social skills if you want, mine aren't so great either. |
