The first one was good, but a bit slow at the start, is the 2nd any better?

I was too frightened to watch the first one i spent the whole time with my head under my pillow, i hate horror and gore. My boyfriend watched it tho and said it was great and he has heard that the second is even gorier and gross, so i guess thats another film he will be watching on his own.
