Why aren't we protesting enough against the war in Iraq?
I was thinking there are so many of us around the world for whatever reasons are opposed to the war in Iraq and yet there does not seem to be many rallys and big protests going on around the globe. Why Is that, and who is up for making some sort of stand? Maybe we could write some letters of and get as many people on this yahoo answers site to sign it and send it our leaders.Any Ideas?

It's too late for protests - we're already there - already in a mess that we now have to fix.
Some of the best advice I ever got was to not complain about something unless you can also bring some proposed positive suggestions and ideas to bear regarding how the problem can be fixed. Not sure what good protesting would do other than show the world even more how divided a country we've become. |

apathy is a dangerous thing
its easy to sit at home and decide not to participate in voicing your opinion but I think to show your feelings is the right thing everytime the less people stand up for themselves the more power governments have

There have been loads of protests. Personally I don't think that protesting will do anything to help.
Protesters to me are generally people without jobs, living off the government, yet campaigning agains't them. There is a peacecamp near where I live full of people like this. Then you get the celebrities who protest just to get some media attention, then there are the genuine protestors who do work and do have a right to their say, who I do respect, but still don't think the government will listen to them. Sorry, I grew up with protesters trying to close down a navel base near where I live, where thousands of people worked. It's not like a bunch of protesters are going to change their minds and shut it down making thousands of people be out of work :/ not to mention that we wouldn't have any navel defence anymore which would put us at a major disadvantage if we ever went to war as we live on an island (UK). I'll stop ranting ![]() |

I don't mind protestors, as long as they have a life outside of protesting, a job of some sort at least.
Most of the people who protest at the naval base i'm near don't work, live off the government and yet still think that their view is the only one that matters. Personally I don't think these people should have a say, they arn't the ones paying the taxes. |
