No I don't think it is strange. But it is rare.

I ,like you , became interested in philosophy at an early age and I do not regret it because the Q's get better as I learn and understand more and more about these 5 major areas--God and Religions, the Self & other Selves, Nature & Science, Existence & Life,and the connections between those 4 areas and the metaphilosophical triad consisting of Meaning, Logic, and Truth. I think right now I am interested most in the many questions about consciousness which are addressed in Cognitive Science and Philosophy of Mind.

Please don't be discouraged by those who lack interest in philosophy and often have have no insight into any of the hardest Q's you will ever try to answer. I only wish the internet had existed back then when I was watching the first episodes of Star Trek in my Dorm back in 1969.
