Booing and Negativities at High School Level?

I was just watching Hannity & Colmes segment on High school sports and booing. (I turned on the tv and it was on so no jokes). Ok well officials in Washington (state) are trying to bann booing and all negative chants trying to protect the kids.

I really think it takes the fun out of the game. My school did that last year. It was just quiet action and after the fifth last name chant...it got really boring.

Well do you think this is an extreme case of political correctness or a genuine argument to protect the youth?

it's bad form....cheering is much more encouraging. if your team makes mistakes, say nothing, if the other team does well, booing shows poor sportsmanship.. i don't think it's about protecting children, i think it's part of their education and they ought to be taught to be responsible citizens. it's just ugly and low rent.

They have to develop tough skins if they are going to stay in the game. I think booing may be in bad form but banning it is ridiculous and counterproductive.
