Top Vacation Destination

One of my best vacations ever was going to St Martin/Sint Maarten. It's a tiny island in the Caribbean. Half the island is French (St Martin), and the other side is Dutch (Sint Maarten). The whole island is exotic and beautiful. The beaches were all gorgeous and everyone was friendly.

Where is your best vacation destination?

Ive had some good experiences in Montenegro, Barcelona, Berlin, London and NYC.
I would much rather go to somewhere off the beaten track than goto a resort though
Even if I did go to somewhere with a lot of tourists I would rather sample the real country not follow on the tourist trails

NYC was lots of fun. I went for the New Year's Eve in Times Square. Way too many people for my taste.

Although Japan would be interesting, it would be far from my top choices of places to visit.

Ive always wanted to goto Tokyo after seeing Blade Runner

Looks good also because of all the electronics coming outta there and their fascination with computing which I share
plus the traditional way of life alongside the modern looks interesting
